SERVICE STATION: OPTIONAL DINING CHOICES

If you still haven’t decided what kind of meal you’ll be serving, figure it out now. Much of this will depend on the time of day your ceremony is held (you’re probably not going to have a three-course meal after a 9 A.M. wedding). There are, however, different options to consider for all times of the day. Here, a basic rundown:

10 A.M.: breakfast

Most popular for at-home affairs, wedding breakfasts can be as elegant as anything—crêpes and croissants—or as casual as the two of you—waffle station, anyone? For drinks, Bloody Marys, mimosas, or Bellinis are popular options to go along with juice, coffee, and tea. Whatever you choose, you’re bound to save a lot of money on liquor. A more common morning reception is a wedding brunch, served a bit later (from noon till about four), and with a few more food options, like omelets and cheese platters. Wedding cake is perfectly appropriate for breakfast or brunch, though guests probably won’t feel cheated if you opt not to have one.
